Tell me about yourself
Hi, I’m Ring from Taipei, Taiwan—the hometown of bubble tea! I recently graduated from Loughborough University with a Master's in User Experience Design. I’m passionate about design, dogs, and food. 🧋 🐶 🍲
What brough you to UXUI design?
I first encountered UX/UI while working in marketing when I was assigned to build a website for my company. Initially, I thought it would be a simple task—until I realized how much thought goes into layout, CTA button placement, and information architecture. That experience sparked my curiosity about design’s impact on user experience, ultimately leading me to pursue UX/UI as a career.
What’s your design process like?
My design process starts with Purpose, Plan, and Payoff. I begin by understanding user needs, business goals, and client expectations. Then, I follow a structured approach—Discover, Define, Develop, and Deliver. Finally, I assess the impact and refine as needed. Curiosity and collaboration shape my work. I draw inspiration from creatives, experiment with new ideas, and push boundaries to craft meaningful experiences.
What are your short-term and long-term career path goals?
In the short term, I want to gain hands-on experience in UX research and UI design, while improving my communication and cross-team collaboration skills. I aim to better balance business goals with users' needs, an area I find challenging but rewarding.
Long-term, I see myself moving into a Product Manager role, where I can combine research, creativity, and collaboration to deliver meaningful solutions. For now, I'm focused on refining my UI design skills and deepening my UX research expertise.
